L'Chaim Society?

L’Chaim Society is an exclusive program for members to make a legacy commitment to impact the State of Israel through value driven education and support using the Village Way methodology.

The name L’Chaim has multiple meanings. Not only is it the traditional exclamation of celebration it also honors Chaim Peri, the Village Way’s extraordinary visionary. It also signifies the life, impact and legacy of our members.

Membership privileges include:

Recognition on the L’Chaim Society Wall of Honor at Yemin Orde Youth Village and acknowledgement as leaders in ImpactIsrael’s Annual Reports.
Transportation to the Village when you and your family are in Israel.
Members-only events and reports. L’Chaim Society e-Newsletters.
Pride and knowledge of making a difference in the lives of at-risk children in Israel. Am Yisroel Chai!

WHAT WILL MY

L'Chaim Society Legacy achieve?

Below are examples of current annual expenses for core programs of Yemin Orde Youth Village and the Village Way Educational Initiatives.

Available to every Village graduate from the moment of Graduation this is a lifetime connection beginning with gap-year (Mechina) enrollment stipends, Village liaisons supporting soldiers through military service, scholarships for university and vocational training, guidance for professional career guidance and counselling for financial planning and household budgeting; an annual Graduates Day and other events hosted at the Village, therapeutic services when needed and a year-round Graduates Home in the Village for graduates in need.

This support provides financial incentives to the Village Way’s expanding network of Graduate Communities. Communities must meet 7 out of 10 criteria, such as continued activity with Tikkun Olam programming, their own graduate support programs and parent involvement. Communities must continue active staff learning sessions on the Village Way methodology. The vast majority of Graduate Communities qualify and receive this support.

A Unique Opportunity

$300,000 ONE STUDENT EVERY YEAR IN PERPETUITY

Your $300,000 ImpactIsrael legacy will provide the income to enroll one student at Yemin Orde Youth Village every year in perpetuity. A charitable bequest to ImpactIsrael can be as simple as a sentence or two in the body of your will, and will ensure your legacy to support the Village and the Village Way for thousands of Israel’s at-risk youth across Israel and at Yemin Orde Youth Village and/or the Village Way Educational Initiatives.

To make a bequest to ImpactIsrael the following model paragraph may be included in any will.

I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to ImpactIsrael currently located at 200 Highland Avenue Suite 301, Needham, MA 02494 (_______ percent of my estate; or the sum of $ _______ ) to be held and administered by the Board of Trustees of the said organization, for support of Yemin Orde Youth Village and/or the Village Way Educational Initiatives in Israel.

A life insurance policy can name ImpactIsrael as the beneficiary while the donor retains ownership of the policy and has access to the policy’s cash value. Although the face value of the policy will be included in the donor’s estate, there will be no federal estate-tax liability from the policy because of the estate tax charitable deduction.

A gift of life insurance can give you the ability to make a substantially larger gift than might be possible during your lifetime.

A charitable remainder trust provides a lifetime income and a charitable income tax deduction. The donor selects the payout rate, usually between 5% and 7%. The higher the payout rate, the lower the charitable tax deduction. The donor receives an income every year for life or for a predetermined time period.

The payment can be fixed or can be a percentage of the trust value and vary over time. This vehicle helps avoid capital gains taxes on transfers of appreciated assets. Estate taxes may be avoided or diminished.

It was love at first sight! On a mission to Israel in 1999, we stopped at Yemin Orde for a few hours. I was immediately impressed with its goals of rearing and educating orphans (or virtual orphans) from around the world. But beyond the admiration of its objectives was the emotion of meeting both the enthusiastic kids and the warm, deeply devoted staff and teachers. In the words of Shimon Peres, this was the embodiment of the Israel we all dream and hope for...
